Removing and installing alternator, 1.4 l injection engine without air conditioning system — AUDI

🧭 Before you start

Fits: VW Caddy III (2K, 2004–2015); platform code 2C0

📋 Procedure

1. ⚠ To disconnect and reconnect the battery, the procedure described in the workshop manual should be strictly adhered to . — Disconnect battery .
2. If fitted, remove noise insulation General body repairs, exterior66Noise insulation.
3. Release and disconnect connector of DF cable (1) and pull off protective cap (2).
4. Unscrew B+ wire (arrow) from alternator.
5. Remove poly V-belt Power unit13Cylinder block, belt pulley end; Removing and installing poly V-belt.

6. Undo bolts securing alternator (arrows).
7. Unscrew wire holder (arrow) from alternator.
8. Take out alternator.
9. ⚠ When installing used poly V-belts observe the direction of rotation marked on removal!Before installing poly V-belt, ensure that all ancillaries (alternator, air conditioning compressor) are securely fitted.When fitting belt, ensure that poly V-belt seats correctly in pulleys! — Drive threaded sleeve (A) about 4 mm in direction of arrow out of alternator housing.
10. Secure wiring retainer (arrow) on back of alternator in 9 o'clock position.
11. Tighten threaded connections to specified torque given in assembly overview .
12. Connecting battery .
13. Start engine and check belt running.
