  1. Swivel air distribution housing (4) to rear (arrow), disengage and detach from evaporator housing (5). [Note: Even minute leakage at the tongue-and-groove joint between the air distribution housing and the evaporator housing can lead to whistling noise as a result of escaping air. For this reason, lubricate the connection points lightly with silicone grease or similar to completely seal the connection points. For silicone grease, refer to Electronic parts catalogue]
  2. Install heater and air conditioning unit .
  3. Install remaining components.
  4. Interrogate event memory and erase any entries displayed ("“Guided Fault Finding”").
  5. As a final step, check operation of heater/air conditioner.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
