Precision adjustment of accelerator position sender -G79
Note:
The accelerator position sender -G79 contains a kick-down switch, the function of which is only required for vehicles with automatic gearbox.
Vehicles with manual gearbox:
Set accelerator pedal at adjusting bolt such that pressure point of kick-down switch is just attained when accelerator pedal makes contact with floor panel stop.
To do so, depress accelerator pedal by hand until floor panel stop is reached.
If stop is reached before pressure point (significant resistance) is felt:
Turn adjusting bolt clockwise until pressure point is just attained when accelerator pedal makes contact with floor panel stop.
If pressure point is attained before reaching floor panel stop:
Turn adjusting bolt anti-clockwise until pressure point is just attained when accelerator pedal makes contact with floor panel stop.
Vehicles with automatic gearbox:
Set accelerator pedal at adjusting bolt such that pressure point of kick-down switch is fully attained when accelerator pedal makes contact with floor panel stop.
To do so, depress accelerator pedal by hand until floor panel stop is reached.
If stop is reached before pressure point (significant resistance) is felt:
Turn adjusting bolt clockwise until pressure point is fully attained when accelerator pedal makes contact with floor panel stop.
If pressure point is attained before reaching floor panel stop:
Turn adjusting bolt anti-clockwise until pressure point is fully attained when accelerator pedal makes contact with floor panel stop.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
