Fitting location on radiator cowl — AUDI
Fitting location on radiator cowl on Audi: 13 steps, engines CDBA, CDCA, CNEA, CNFA. What to remove, in what order, and what to check after.
Despite its title, this job is the removal and refitting of continued coolant circulation pump V51, mounted at the radiator cowl, on the vehicles under the platform codes listed below (S1, 2H) with the four-cylinder diesel engine codes shown. Access is from underneath once any underbody guard is off. The two coolant hoses on the pump are pinched with hose clamps 3094 before the spring-type clips are released, which keeps coolant loss to a dribble you can catch with a cloth. The pump is unbolted, the wiring harness clip at the bracket is released and the connector unplugged. Fitting is the same in reverse. What matters most is clamping the hoses before opening anything and topping up and checking the coolant level at the end, since any air or loss shows up later as poor heating.
🧭 Before you start
Remove the underbody guard if fitted. Pinch both coolant hoses with clamps 3094, release the spring clips and pull the hoses off V51, catching coolant with a cloth. Unbolt the pump, free the harness clip at the bracket and unplug the connector. Fit the new pump with its bolts, refit the hoses with spring clips, plug in and secure the wiring, refit the guard and check the coolant level.
Fits: platform codes S1, 2H
- Special tools named: 3094
Don't miss
- Clamp both hoses with 3094 before releasing the clips to limit coolant loss.
- Refit spring-type clips correctly; do not substitute worm-drive clips.
- Re-secure the wiring harness to its bracket so it cannot chafe.
- Check and correct the coolant level after the pump is installed.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
