📋 Procedure

  1. ⚠ To avoid accident risks when road testing the vehicle with test equipment, always observe the relevant safety precautions . — Take off engine cover panel (arrows).
  2. Connect T-piece with test hose of turbocharger testerV.A.G 1397 A to intake manifold (front).
  3. Route test hose under rear edge of bonnet and through right window into passenger compartment.
  4. Switch on turbocharger tester and set measuring range selector switch to position (I) (absolute pressure).
  5. Attach test hose to connection (I). [Note: Ensure absolute leakproof connection of hoses to avoid measurement errors.Take care not to trap test hose at bonnet and side window.Pressing memory button (M) on turbocharger tester causes last measured value to be stored until memory button (M) is pressed again or tester is switched off.The decimal point in the display flashes to indicate that the value is being stored. If the battery voltage of the turbocharger tester drops below the minimum level, an arrow will appear at the top left of the display. Before performing the test, drive vehicle moderately fast for at least 3 km (without stopping at traffic lights etc.).]

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
