Workshop procedure for AUDI — the exact step sequence and torque figures, straight from real workshop data.

8 steps

🧭 Before you start

Fits: Audi Q7 (4L, 2005–2015)

  • Special tools named: VAS 5051

📋 Procedure

  1. Switch off the electrical equipment with high current consumption (e.g. rear window heating).
  2. Set the smallest possible speed for the fresh air blower V2.
  3. Set the ventilation control for the corresponding seat (in the front operating and display unit) to the maximum setting.
  4. Check the corresponding seat by listening for blower running noise in the seat.
  5. Set the heating control for the corresponding seat (in the front operating and display unit) to the maximum setting. The relevant measured value block indicates activation of the seat heating "Guided Fault Finding" function of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
  6. Seat ventilation is not available at a seat temperature below 15 °C (function is deactivated when seat temperature is too low).
  7. Depending on the seat temperature and the selected seat ventilation level, the seat heating can be activated automatically by the control unit when the seat ventilation has been in operation for approx. 5 minutes. However, while the seat ventilation is operating, the seat heating will heat only the seat cushion and the heating for the side bolsters will not be switched on .
  8. While the seat ventilation is operating, the seat heating can also be activated up to the following seat temperatures, depending on the selected seat ventilation level (temperatures measured by sensor in seat cushion) Guided Fault Finding function of vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
