Note
Disregard
items 1, 2
.
Fuel gauge sender
G
installed:
Note
To obtain an exact measurement of the resistance value for the specification
“Tank full”
, the fuel tank must be completely full. For this, drive for at least 500 metres after filling the tank to let air bubbles escape from the fuel tank; then add fuel again.
Connect multimeter (resistance test) between contacts
2
and
4
.
Tank empty: approx. 280 Ω.
Tank full: approx. 65 Ω.

.
Sender in any position: approx. 340 Ω.
Fuel gauge sender
G
removed:
Note
In order to test the maximum and minimum resistance values for
“tank full”
and
“tank empty”
, remove the
fuel gauge sender
G
and move the float all the way to its top or bottom position.
The following values are obtained with the fuel gauge sender removed, due to the greater travel of the float arm:
Connect multimeter (resistance test) between contacts

Tank empty: approx. 288 Ω.
Tank full: approx. 57 Ω.

Fuel gauge sender
G
is defective in the following cases:
Large differences in test readings
Reading: 0 Ω (short circuit)
Reading ∞ Ω (open circuit)
No fault in electrical wiring

Who makes these pages, and how

TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.

The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.

Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.

Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
