Notes:
The intake manifold pressure sender is accommodated in one housing together with the intake manifold temperature sender.
Fitting location of intake manifold pressure sender -arrow-: In rear air pipe.
Test requirements:
Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 connected; vehicle self-diagnosis and vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" selected
Engine stopped, ignition on
Test sequence
Readout on VAS 5051:
In list -1-, touch diagnostic function "08 - Reading measured value block".
Readout on VAS 5051:
1 -
Enter display group
max. input value = 255
Use keypad-2- to enter "010" for "Display group number 010" and confirm by touching Q key.
Readout on VAS 5051:
Check display in display zones -2- and -3-.
Specification: Coinciding pressures
Tolerance ± 30 mbar
If reading does not match specification:
Check wiring.
Quit "08 - Reading measured value block" function by touching◂key.
Readout on VAS 5051:
Enter diagnostic function "06 - End output" in selection -1-.
Check wiring
Remove rubber seal from plenum chamber cover in direction of arrow.
Remove plenum chamber cover -1- from the front.

Unclipcaps.
Remove nuts -arrows- and detach engine cover.
Remove insulation lying below.
Re-insert dipstick into guide tube.
Unplug electrical connector from intake manifold pressure sender
-arrow-.
Check for open circuit and short to earth/positive in the following wiring.
Connector / Contact · Test box V.A.G 1598/31 / Socket
1 · 52
3 · 31
4 · 71
If necessary, eliminate open circuit in wiring/short circuit.

Who makes these pages, and how
TorqFix was built by a mechanic — after a 2,700 km drive with five roadside repairs that no diagnostic tool could explain.
The figures on this page come from manufacturer workshop documentation and are shown as they are. The page is assembled automatically from that data — it is not written by an AI. The AI works in the chat, where it answers for your specific car. It writes nothing here.
Variants of the same model differ. Cross-check torque against the factory manual for your engine before final tightening.
Seen a figure that does not match your manual? Write to us — we correct it and note when. support@torqfix.com
