5-speed manual gearbox 085 DS — Renewing oil seals for flange shafts — AUDI

Fits: Audi A2 (8Z)

• Opens: gearbox oil

Don't miss

• The illustration shows the oil seal on the left side.

📋 Procedure

1. Remove the drive shafts 40.
2. Place used oil collection and extraction unitV.A.G 1782 below gearbox.
3. Remove flange shaft.
4. Remove flange shaft together with springs, thrust washers and tapered rings
5. Pull out oil seal.

6. Using drift3106, drive in new oil seal as far as stop, taking care to keep seal straight. [Note: The illustration shows the oil seal on the left side.]
7. Pack space between sealing lip and dust lip with sealing greaseG 052 128 A1.
8. Fit the springs, thrust washers, tapered rings and flange shafts. Pay attention to the distinguishing features of the flange shafts .
9. Install drive shafts 40.
10. Check gear oil level and top up as required .
